The UK has a long farming history, with the East of the country continuing to be a major part of this traditional industry.

However in recent years there has been a increase in the a farming industry that is not native to this county - alpaca farming.

Here in Essex and Hertfordshire, there are a number of alpaca farmers who have fallen in love with the fluffy animal and are working hard to grow the industry in the area.

Harley Laver, 27, runs Churchfield Alpacas based in Latchingdon in Essex.

Starting six years ago with five alpacas, Ms Laver now has a herd of 80 animals.

Emma Taylor, 53, owns the East Anglia Alpaca Mill, in Norfolk, and has been involved in alpaca farming in the East for 10 years.
