Looking for a unique activity in Cape Town? It doesn’t get more exciting than the Alpaca Loom in Paarl. Indigenous to Peru, we are lucky enough to have a herd of these beautiful animals in our back yard.

You can shop for exquisite handmade alpaca products and watch the weavers handcraft alpaca wool into products likes scarves, shawls, blankets and rugs. Hand-knitted mittens, beanies and jerseys are also available for sale, as well as a range of alpaca yarn. Spend your day petting  alpacas and learning about these incredible animals. The jungle gym is ideal for children to burn their pent-up energy.

An Alpaca Barn Tour is an experience of a lifetime. Here you meet the adorable resident alpaca herd including the youngest crias (babies) and engage with these furry friendly animals. Find out more about alpacas and how alpaca fibre is processed into fabric to create the beautiful wares for sale.

The Alpaca Barn Tours take place daily at 11am and 3pm. You also can enjoy delicious baked goods and coffee as you watch the alpacas in their pasture. If you need to hire an alpaca, llama or dromedary for a film shoot or other special event like birthday party or wedding, this is the place to go.
